Networking
In addition to getting strong skills and
a good portfolio, you need to meet people in the
industry because so many jobs are made
through personal contact. One way to do this is
to join professional organizations and attend
their meetings, conferences, and seminars. Many
of these organizations have inexpensive student
memberships. They also often have print journals
and newsletters that list jobs.
